In sims 3 I decided not to have as many CC as I had in sims 2, but I do have around 100 hairstyles, a custom skinset, some makeup and eye contacts. Whenever I tried to go to a community lot I had to be very quick in making friends because if I had too many sims with CC looks on the lot it would crash. In sims 2 I had over 10.000 CC but I have to be honest, it did harm my game. Thanks for your question and I hope this helps.
#Sims 3 self harm mod how to
On the other hand, we have had discussions among the staff about it and we're working on having a dedicated thread that will explain our position more thoroughly and possibly offer some information on how to find trusted content. Our policy here is to be as honest as possible about things that can cause problems for your game and we're just not a site that promotes third party content. Even then there is still some risk to your game. It's not as bad if you're downloading from a site you absolutely trust to have good content. With the house you downloaded, for example, you have no idea where that content came from, who made it, and whether it's good quality. The reason that it's risky is because you really don't know what you're getting. As Turoskel said, I find that Electronic Arts has more than enough items to keep me satisfied without resorting the use of possibly risky third party content. Not everyone on this site is against the use of CC. I've had one experience of a bad hair some time ago though, whoever made it had obviously flagged an adult hair for children so I had some newly aged up townie kids with a wig floating at adult height above their heads, was sort of funny at the time and thankfully not game breaking but that was when I gave up trying CC hairs.

Other than that I don't use CC because I don't feel the need to, EA have provided more than enough items for my needs. I have looked at the more realistic style skins as they look nice on the pictures but in game they never look the same, perhaps it's my graphics but they always look smudged and like my sim needs a good wash.

With the recent Journey To Batuu game pack and Eco Lifestyle expansion in 2020 having been a major disappointment for many simmers, mods are the go-to way to make the game actually bearable to play.įrom bringing in new, incredible features that no one has ever even dreamed of seeing in the game to introducing features that should have been in the base game all along, here thirty mods that will both enhance the game and bring it to a new level of crazy. This I feel is some of the problem, getting things you never asked for, which is why I only download lots from here as I know they wont come with any nasty surprises, plus there are some really good builders on this forum.įor myself I do use a custom skin that I have used for a long time but it isn't that far removed from the EA default just a little smoother looking, the same subtle makeup I put on my sim with that skin makes her look like a clown with EA's skin for some reason so I use it mainly because it makes her face look better to me.
